Annie Sloan Chalk Paint – not just for furniture!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is an incredibly versatile paint. Most people know it can be used on furniture but do you know it can be used on walls, ceilings and floors too? Yes, in deed it can most certainly be used on floors. If you want to complete the look it is so easy to do. It is ideal for wooden floors but can be used to great effect on concrete ones too.

The photo above is what we started out with. A rather boring concrete floor very much in need of covering up.
The first stage was to apply a coat of watered down Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™. We chose to add water as the concrete soaks up some of the paint. In this particular case it was a 50:50 mix. The colour chosen was Paris Grey.

The next stage was to divide the floor up to look like tiles. Here we used Annie Sloan Graphite. You can either do this free hand or use a piece of wood to act as a guide line.

The last and final stage is to seal the paint using Annie Sloan Lacquer. The Lacquer dries to a soft matt finish and is ideal to protect the paint. We applied this using a mini roller and a brush for the edges.Handy tip – make sure you shake the bottle well before using as all the good stuff sinks to the bottom. We left it over night to dry.The end result is a floor. For those that have visited our shop you will have seen the painted floor there. For those that haven’t here it is..
